Amidst an explosion of isekai anime in recent years, now and then, a gem of a story catches the interest of even the most hardcore anime connoisseurs who had developed a distaste for this oversaturated anime subgenre.
How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom put together a different recipe for its isekai formula that captured the hearts of anime fans.
But many are puzzled about the absence of buzz or hype for a continuation after a successful season 2 run. Will there be a season 3 at all? As of this writing, Realist Hero has yet to be renewed for a season 3.
While it has not yet achieved a cult-level status like Re:Zero or TenSura, or made avid isekai fans fondly recall series such as Grimgar or Log Horizon, How A Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom had undoubtedly made its mark in an anime genre already overflowing with great stories.
Are you one of those waiting for a continuation of Kazuya’s adventures?

How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom Season 3 Release Date
Unlike most popular anime, the end of the Realist Hero’s second part did not come with a teaser announcement or even an assurance of a third one.
After receiving a great deal of praise during its run, the chances of a third part should be high, though.
Or better yet, the producers can do a second season with two parts.
Fans should expect an announcement by the middle of 2023, an excellent year in anime with its jampacked schedule of popular releases.
There’s still a lot left in the source material, although fans still felt satisfied with how the last episode ended with revelations and a kiss (wink wink).
However, if the producers decide to hear the clamor for part 3 or season 2 and announce a continuation, you will find details about it in this article very soon.
How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom Season 3 Trailer
Having Realist Hero part 3 news being unannounced, naturally, isekai fans can only wait for the trailer to be revealed.
In the meantime, please enjoy this video of the opening and ending songs of the anime’s part 1.
The songs were sung by Japanese voice actresses behind Princess Liscia and Carla Vargas, Inori Minase, and Aimi Terakawa. As soon as a trailer is revealed, we will update this article, along with the news of Realist Hero’s anime continuation.
How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom Story and Season 3 Expectations
19-year-old aspiring civil servant Kazuya Souma is suddenly transported to the Elfrieden Kingdom, a kingdom in the midst of trouble.
The newly summoned ‘hero’ tasked to become an offering to the Gran-Chaos Kingdom reverses the situation and instead convinces King Albert of Elfrieden to make him stay and help the bankrupt kingdom.
Putting to use his extensive knowledge of realism and Machiavellianism, the impressed King Albert abdicates his throne and makes Kazuya ruler out of the blue. The king even betroths Princess Liscia to him.
The new acting king enacts radical reforms to improve the standard of living of the kingdom while also finding himself in wars in and out of the domain.
Using his wits in politics and military, Kazuya is able to emerge victorious, annexing the erstwhile rival kingdom Amidonia while forging a secret alliance with the most powerful nation in the world, the Gran Chaos Empire led by Maria Euphoria.
While season 1, part 2 may have ended with an unusual sense of satisfaction absent in most anime conclusions, a continuation would still be a welcome development.
Fans who have invested time in the other parts of the story, like the extensive world-building of Realist Hero, still have questions.
With most of the pressing matters out of the picture, Kazuya can finally focus on development programs for his kingdom.
One probable development that can be featured next season is the Educational program.
Kazuya, being the isekai MC he is, isn’t a one-true-love naive guy. He will explore his relationships with his other brides-to-be next season.
How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom News
Genjitsu Shugi Yūsha no Ōkoku Saikenki (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) was based on a light novel series of the same name written by Dojyomaru and illustrated by Fuyuyuki.
Like many isekai light novels, Realist Hero started as a web novel in 2014, published on Shōsetsuka ni Narō.
Overlap acquired the web novel and published the first volume of Kazuya’s isekai adventures as a light novel in 2016 under their Overlap Bunko imprint.
The light novel is still ongoing, with 17 volumes available as of this writing.
Satoshi Ueda adapted Realist Hero into a manga series on Overlap’s Comic Gardo website in 2017.
How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom became an anime series when J.C.Staff picked it up in 2020. It premiered in July 2021 and ran through two parts with 13 episodes each.
The anime only covered the first four volumes, so there’s still more than enough for more seasons (or parts), not to mention Dojyomaru hasn’t yet concluded Kazuya’s story.
