After finishing its last chapter a couple of years ago, at last, Tsuyokute New Saga will get an anime adaptation! The anime is planend to air in July 2023.
The entire series will bring the usual hero-demon king setup like other fantasy anime. But what makes this series different? Demon King is dead in the first episode!
But the cost is too great. By chance, our hero finds a way to the past. Now, it is his turn to prevent the great tragedy that will befall the world in the future.
The entire premise is almost the same as Redo of Healer (2021) but, of course, less debauchery and more like straight planning to prevent the tragedy.

Tsuyokute New Saga Trailer
The PV was released on October 19, 2022. The video starts with the narration by Takahashi Minami on the story background as Sildonia Zeeles.
Through some early scenes, we can see the studios adapt CGI technology in battle. Though it isn’t particularly rare for the fight anime scene nowadays to use CGI, let’s hope that it doesn’t end up as a poor-quality anime.
Ishigooka Norikazu will direct the anime, while Ihara Kenta is in charge of the series composition. Nilitsu will provide character design and Anazawa Hironori is responsible for the music.
The series is the collaboration work of three different studios; Sotsu, Yokohama Animation Lab, and Makaria.
Tsuyokute New Saga Story
Tsuyokute New Saga starts with a generic shonen premise of the Demon Lord waging a war against the world. In just a year, almost all of the population is pushed to the brink of extinction.
In desperation, the alliance is formed among the surviving nation. They send the elite of the elite to the demon lord’s castle. Among them is Kyle Lenard, the Hero.
In the end, the Demon King is slain by Kyle, but at what cost? He lost everything in the process. Friends, family, lovers, comrades. All dead. On his deathbed after slaying the Demon King, he notices a strange gem in the chamber.
He feels strange that Demon King tries to protect it at cost of his life. So, he approaches the gem and grabs it. Light comes out and glows intensely.
When he opens his eyes, he ends up in his bedroom. He also sees his childhood friend who is supposed to be dead a year ago.
After recovering, he realizes that he comes to the past before the tragedy happens. Now that he has a clean slate, can he prevent the tragedy that will befall the world?
Tsuyokute New Saga News
Tsuyokute New Saga is a Japanese light novel written by Masayuki Abe and illustrated by Ryuta Fuse. It was originally released online on the novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro between May 2012 and 2013.
Then, AlphaPolis acquired the right to publish it in the print version. The series ends in ten volumes which span from April 2013 to July 2018. Reportedly, the light novel has sold over 800 thousand copies.
In the same year as the light novel’s publication, a manga adaptation was released online via AlphaPolis’s manga website. Jun Miura is responsible for drawing the manga.
Then, the individual chapter is compiled into ten volumes of manga with the latest volume being released on October 31, 2022.
Though the story has been concluded a couple of years ago, it is amazing that only a few articles are spoiling the ending.
It is also worth mentioning that the three studios are still having fairly few experiences as studios. Both Yokohama Animation Lab nor Makaria haven’t touched a decade mark and Sotsu is mainly a big player in the production company rather than a studio for years since its founding in 1965.
Having to compete with other popular series such as the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen and also the second season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, can Tsuyokute New Saga comes out on top as one of the best among the summer of 2023 anime?
