Another adventure visibly lurks around the corner much like our favorite goofy spy Daybreak!

TOHO Animation has released two types of Teaser Visuals. One of each with their own distinct view of our main characters.

The first poster shows the Family dressed up in their “work clothes” (but in Anya’s case, school clothes!).

The second poster shows the quirky side of the Forger Family, with Anya escaping studies and Anya and Bond being skeptical about Yor’s cooking.).

With that said, let’s dive into what we know about the upcoming season of Spy x Family!

Spy x Family Season 2 Release Date

TOHO Animation has announced that Spy x Family Season 2 will be released this October 2023, but they haven’t included a specific date just yet.

We’ve guessed that for global viewing, October 30, 2023, would be the safest bet that you could watch the anime without any need to learn Japanese just to watch the unsubbed raw versions of the anime.

We update regularly, so stay tuned if you wanna know the exact date when you can watch Season 2 without any problems!

Spy x Family Season 2 Trailer

The PV was released on December 24, 2022, and shows the trailer of season 2 as well as the trailer for the movie! A 2-in-1 video for double the fun on release.

Spy x Family Story (A Recap On Season 1)

If you think your family has secrets, wait till you hear about the skeletons in the Forger closet!

Spy x Family is a quirky anime series that revolves around an impromptu family with unusual secrets even the other family members don’t know about!

Let’s tackle what we know so far about each of the members of the Forger family!

Who Is Loid Forger?

One of the main protagonists of the series and an undercover spy codenamed “Twilight”.

He works for WISE to protect the world from anything that threatens the little peace it has left.

His current mission requires him to form a family to be able to “meet up” with Donovan Desmond, a man who threatens the peace between the East and the West.

“Meet up” would be an understatement considering that Donovan is the main target to “unalive” in order to maintain world peace.

And the fact that we’re not at war right now might just be because of Twilight!

He tries his best to be a good husband and father, not just in front of his neighbors, but also when he’s with Anya and Yor.

Although it requires him to have good relations with his impromptu family members, he still cares (a lot!) about them.

Talk about a sweetheart of a spy!

Who Is Anya Forger?

Another one of the main protagonists of the series who has a secret she doesn’t want anyone to know.

This little girl is actually a telepath. Someone who can read minds.

She was adopted by Loid Forger after hearing his thoughts that he needs a smart kid to take with him.

What better way to showcase your smarts than by solving a crossword puzzle, right?

Although she didn’t know most of the words she wrote, she still tried her best by reading Loid’s thoughts to get the answers!

Sneaky but clever!

She has abandonment issues from the escape of an unknown facility which nurtured only her abilities, and not her.

She never told anyone about her powers for fear of being abandoned. (Our poor baby!)

I believe that Anya is the only character in Spy x Family who knows the secrets of the Forger Family.

Not even the famed spy Twilight knows about Yor’s deep dark secret!

Who Is Yor Forger?

Yor is the adoptive (and adopted!) mother of Anya Forger and the wife of Loid Forger.

There’s already a spy and a telepath in one family, so she’s probably the normal one, right?

Yeah, wrong.

She’s actually a really skilled assassin nicknamed “Thorn Princess”.

She doesn’t really hide her physical capabilities in doing day-to-day activities (like how she trains Anya how to throw a ball by toppling down half a dozen trees in one throw).

Although she’s really bad at cooking, she tries her best for the Forger Family.

She even took lessons from some toxic workmates because they were good at cooking!

Talk about dedication!

She’s not entirely hopeless, though. She has really good skills with the knife!

Being an assassin has its unusual perks.

Who Is Bond Forger?

An adorable (and large) doggo who has certain abilities as well!

Because an unusual family isn’t complete without getting an unusual pet!

Due to being used in one too many experiments, he gained the ability of precognition.

Basically, he can see into the future!

But isn’t that kinda useless if he can’t tell his humans?

Let’s not forget that we got someone in the Forger Family household who can read minds!

Anya Forger can read Bond’s thoughts to see the future.

At times, Bond shared his precognitions to Anya who wasn’t even trying to look into his thoughts!

This dynamic duo of Bond and Anya has saved Loid during one of his mission where he undoubtedly would have died!

So, What Happens?

Anya attends school to try and get close to Donovan Desmond’s son, Damian Desmond, as well as gaining Stellar Stars by doing well on exams and events.

By doing so, Loid Forger can attend events that Donovan Desmond would potentially attend.

If all goes well, then the mission is complete.

But like all the first few episodes of a good anime go, things don’t pan out well.

On the first day of school, Anya punches Damian in the face!

Ouch!

Well, at least she can just get Stella Stars to become an imperial scholar, right?

She’s bad at studying.

Like, really bad.

Loid got disappointed because he thought she was smart as she finished a crossword puzzle by herself.

But it was just a fluke! She was reading Loid’s mind!

The story unravels as they try to figure out how to get Anya some Stella Stars or how she can befriend Damien.

So much has happened in just one season!

Loid and Yor had a legendary role-play battle.

Loid meets Yor’s brother, Yuri.

Anya’s epic dodgeball match.

And don’t forget about how Anya gained a Stella Star for saving a little boy’s life!

What’s The Bottomline?

So much has happened to the Forger Family.

Escaping life-or-death situations due to explosions.

Or escaping life-or-death situations due to jealousy! (Blame Loid for his good looks)

Overall, Spy x Family is a great anime to watch when you need a whole gaggle of giggles or you just need to take your mind off things for a while.

Spy x Family has your back when you need some enjoyment for your evenings alone and want to watch something fun.

Spy x Family Season 2 (What To Expect)

With Season 2 nearing its debut, let’s talk about some of the Story Arcs that could be shown for the Forger’s next adventures!

Cruise Adventure Arc

Yor, also known as “Thorn Princess”, receives a mission to protect a mother and son from assassins aboard a cruise ship named “Princess Lorelei”.

But little did she know that Loid and Anya won tickets on that exact same cruise ship!

Now, she needs to protect her secret identity from being exposed during the trip.

Would Loid find out about her secret persona?

No comment on Anya. She already knows from the get-go. She’s a telepath!

WISE Arc

Loid gets something like a mid-life crisis where he questions his identity as a spy.

Along with a peek at how the Ostania/Westalis conflict began, we can also expect to see more of Loid Forger’s background!

No, no the heart background Yor sees whenever she stares at Loid.

Rather, a flashback of Loid’s childhood up to his early adulthood!

I’m excited to get to know more about our favorite spy, Twilight!

Friendship Schemes Arc

Anya tries her best to become close to Damian.

Even though they had a rough start, she still wants to form a friendship with him in order to help his father, Loid, maintain world peace.

Yor then begins to form a friendship with Melinda Desmond, the mother of Damian Desmond, and the husband of Donovan Desmond, Loid’s target.

Spy x Family Season 2 News

There really isn’t much news on the development of Season 2, but with the released trailer, date, and teaser visuals, it’s safe to say that there’s no stopping our favorite spy-assassin-telepath trio!

TOHO Animations has also announced the release of their spin-off movie called Spy x Family Code: White.
