Attack on Titan Story

Attack on Titan, or Shingeki no Kyojin, began as a manga series illustrated and written by Hajime Isayama. The story takes place in a grim post-apocalyptic world dominated by giants known as Titans.

The Titans are foul creatures who kill and eat any human on sight. Civilization has taken refuge behind massive circular walls meant to keep the Titans at bay.

Eren Yeager, the protagonist, witnesses his mother being eaten alive by a Titan as a young boy and vows revenge on all the Titans.

As a teenager, he enters the Survey Corps – a highly specialized military group whose primary goal is to kill Titans. And so, Eren’s path of revenge begins.

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime and manga series worldwide. With over 110 manga volumes in print worldwide and clips of the anime garnering millions of views on YouTube, it’s no wonder why everyone is excited about the final season!

The manga was published in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in Japan from 2009 to 2021 and has a total of 34 volumes. The anime premiered in April 2013 as an international success.

The anime’s first three seasons were animated by Wit Studio, known for their co-production on Spy x Family with Cloverworks. The final season’s production was taken over by studio MAPPA, who’s worked on many series, including the upcoming Chainsaw Man.

The franchise spawned many pieces of spin-off media, including the parody manga Attack on Titan: Junior High, various novels, video games, and a live-action film starring Haruma Miura.

The manga, licensed by Kodansha, is available digitally on Comixology and Crunchyroll. The anime is licensed by Funimation and is available to stream on their platform, Hulu, and Crunchyroll.
